Information Architecture & User Flows

Information Architecture

I developed the information architecture to being understanding what content I was working with. Laying it out like this will inform the final product and help ensure it stays on the right track.

Next, I broke the elements down into three main categories as shown in the key above. The first is content and features which includes elements like a feed, user profiles, and search results. The next is user actions which includes the ability to bookmark, input text, and select an image. The final element I identifies was product responses and errors which includes pop-up notifications, alerts, and error messages. I also added a circle symbol to indicate where there are other options within the app that aren’t relevant to the flow. I included this so that it was clear there aren’t dead ends in the app.

This flow shows one way users can create conversation threads. Conversation threads create a space for users to share their thoughts, opinions, and ask questions and receive feedback from each other. They are helpful in building a sense of community and learning.

This flow shows how users can find friends, studios, and practices near them. Finding friends and practices can help build a sense of community, be a way to share knowledge, and help users develop their practice.

This flow shows how users can leave a review on a guided meditation. Leaving reviews can help other users decide which guided meditations are right for them and assist Namaste in making sure only high quality guided meditations are offered.

This flow shows how users can save and categorize guided meditations. This feature lets them save meditations the love for easy access and save new meditations to try at a different time.

This flow shows how users can set goals. They can set qualitative goals like achieving a sense of calm after meditating or quantitate goals like meditating three times a week. Setting goals is proven to help people achieve more. It can also help users understand their practice and themselves better.

This flow shows how users can set reminders to meditate or check in. Instituting a new routine can take between 18 and 254 days to start a new habit so having reminders can be immensely helpful to people who are beginning to changing their meditation practice.
